Group Buying Sites
Group Buying Sites, I love them. Just the idea that me and my friends most of whom I have never met get together and all buy 1 thing. And if we do, we all get this amazing deal on what we purchased. I do mean amazing deal BTW.
I even have to go as far as to admit that checking for emails from these sites first thing in the morning has become part of my daily ritual and when there’s something there I want I am absolutely sent to that happy place in my mind. You know that place, the place of “I just got the best buy ever.”
But like everything else when it comes to getting a deal you still have to be careful especially on those impulse purchases. I didn’t actually need that Laser Lipo and really there is no need for my kid to do Horseback Riding Lessons. But, I was going out to dinner with a friend anyways so why should we not eat at one of the hottest up and coming restaurants for 50% off. It’s always best to ask yourself if you need it before you buy it (this rule is true no matter where you are shopping virtual or not and regardless of the purchase).
But if you use these sites smart you really can save a lot. For example if you are going on vacation look up the city you are going to and see if they have a hotel deal. Also, be sure to check out restaurant and personal services as well as entertainment for the city you are traveling to, they are bound to have something you would be purchasing anyways and the potential savings upside is well worth a few minutes of research. Just remember to be flexible and layer on what makes sense, and save some room for spontaneity and if where you really want to go isn’t on sale, you’ll have saved so much you can splurge a little anyways.
Check out GroupOn www.groupon.com the biggest of them all and Living Social www.livingsocial.com as well local sites for your cities and where you want to go because new sites are popping up all the time.
